Basis for a teaching

John said:
...I think that your "enlightenment story" could be described as the "basis for a teaching"*. That is the ongoing story of a path from tears and frustration to happiness and satisfaction, through the pursuit of single-hearted salvation. Do you agree? If you do I will coninue on this blog to try and explore this "basis for a teaching" as I think that it has great potential for a mission activity. If you do not agree, then why not?...

I do agree. Let us explore this topic.

1) I didn't know it was Yoboku do the sweeping of the mind. I thought God was supposed to be the "broom."

2) Are all Yoboku (Timber) intermediaries? I thought intermediaries referred to some more higher up (?) person.

3) When you said:
Incidentally, superficially and as a teaser of sorts, I would put your enlightenment story into the categories of resolve and action. Suppose that we wanted to make those methods or avenues available for someone else. Someone in your neighborhood let's say. Are we set up to do that?

What do you mean by "those methods or avenues?" Are you talking about making a resolution in an effort to accord with God's intention? I'm also lost with English comprehention. What do you mean by, "Are we set up to do that?" Does that mean, "Are we willing to introduce this method to others?"

OK, it's past 1am now. I better get some sleep. If I don't stop myself here, I'll go on till 3am!

Happy New Year!

As it’s late (again!) I want to reply to just #3 right now.
I think it applies to anyone in the world, at any level of spiritual maturity.
I believe the key is to present our sincerity.

I found some verses in the Ofudesaki that I think answer your question. I have picked out XVII: 9-16, but the core of what I wanted to say is the latter part.

XVII:9) As proof of My beginning of human beings,
I shall put the Kanrodai into place.

XVII:10) If only this Stand comes to completion,
there will be nothing that cannot be realized.

XVII:11) Until then, the heart of everyone throughout
the world must be swept clean.

XVII:12) In this sweeping, there will be no discrimination.
Know that Tsukihi is discerning you.

XVII:13) Wherever you may be, Tsukihi will accept all of you
in accordance with your minds.

XVII:14) Whatever mind you may have had until now,
replace it, even in the span of a night!

XVII:15) If you truly replace the mind in its entirety,
Tsukihi will accept it, too, at once.

XVII:16) To Tsukihi, all of you in the world are My children. Love for you fills Me: this is My single heart.
